5 June is World Environment Day: a special day to reflect on sustainability at every level.
Environmental sustainability is a crucial issue that is gaining more and more relevance in the fashion world, not only for clothing but also for the jewellery industry. Companies are, in fact, called upon to adopt sustainable practices, both to respond to the growing demands of increasingly aware consumers and to contribute more directly to a positive impact on the environment and society.
There are many roads leading towards a more conscious and sustainable fashion production and Milano Fashion&Jewels wants to be part of this journey: this is why it is offering concrete support to companies, paying attention not only to the green features of the district where the exhibition takes place, but also to training designers who are committed to sustainability at the event.
Already during the last edition, Milano Fashion&Jewels opened with a conference on the topic and then staged an exhibition to encourage jewellery and fashion accessory manufacturers to create sustainable products.
During the next edition too, the event will look at the many strategies for becoming an ally of the environment, from choosing recycled materials, to having certifications that attest to their use, to producing locally, minimising waste and using processes that reduce energy and water consumption. This is only a part of the many strategies that the fashion and accessory world is deploying today, and which Milano Fashion&Jewels will allow visitors to discover in order to offer manufacturers unique opportunities on the road to becoming ever greener.
