EXPLORING SUSTAINABLE FASHION

After the introduction to the themes of sustainability at the last edition in February 2024 with the exhibition 'Welcome to the Jungle of Sustainability', the 'Exploring Sustainable Fashion' area, curated by Guya Manzoni and Marina Savarese, founders of Sfashion-net, is back for the September edition.

The space, conceived as an arena, will host eleven selected brands from the Italian slow fashion scene, including small and medium-sized craft and independent companies that have sustainability in their DNA. The brands, all from the Sfashion-net circuit, will present their collections of clothing and accessories, projects with a studied design, with special attention to detail, capable of giving concrete form to visions and creativity thanks to experience, know-how and craftsmanship.

Inside the area will be the 'Slow Fashion Cinema Arena', an interactive space where a number of documentaries and visual stories of the craftsmanship process and of some Italian realities, including those exhibited in the area and mini-interviews with the network brands, will be screened in rotation. This is a way to tell the story of craftsmanship and savoir-faire, highlighting the importance of local workers and the need to carry on trades that risk being lost, leaving an unbridgeable gap in the Italian (and other) manufacturing tradition.

The cinema area is a way to welcome curious visitors by offering a moment of entertainment with high cultural and ethical content, to make them appreciate and further enhance the Explore Sustainable Fashion area, visually contextualising the processes behind the work of the slow fashion brands present.
